At Kukuiʻula, our people embody the spirit of Hoʻokipa—gracious hospitality and heartfelt service. This month, we shine the spotlight on Jamer Bellis, Farm Foreperson, who brings a lifelong passion for the outdoors, farming, and education to Kukuiʻula’s lush working farm.
A Natural Calling
Growing up with a father who is an arborist, Jamer’s love for trees and plants was cultivated early. That connection to nature grew into a professional calling, one that eventually led him to Kukuiʻula. With a unique background that includes creating documentaries about sustainable farming—his feature documentary Feeding Tomorrow is available on Apple TV and Amazon Prime—Jamer brings a storyteller’s eye and a farmer’s heart to everything he does.
Life by the Ocean
When he’s not on the farm, Jamer can usually be found near the water. He spends his downtime diving, snorkeling, and tide pooling—always exploring and connecting with the ocean’s rhythms. One of his favorite places on Kauaʻi is Pilaʻa Beach, where whale watching from the cliffs and snorkeling around the reefs make it a truly special spot.
His go-to food truck? The Musubi Truck—a favorite for its local flair and comforting eats.
Planting Roots at Kukuiʻula
Jamer joined Kukuiʻula just a few months ago, inspired by the opportunity to blend farming with hospitality. “It’s the best place to teach people about farming,” he shares. And in such a vibrant, hands-on setting, every day offers something new. Whether he’s innovating with the experienced Farm team or helping introduce new plants to The Farm, Jamer finds joy in growth—both personal and agricultural.
What excites him most about the future? “We have a lot of exciting projects and fun new plants coming to The Farm,” he says with a smile, hinting at the delicious possibilities to come for Members and guests.

Looking to taste the very best of Kukuiʻula’s harvest? Jamer recommends that Member and Lodge Guests stopping by the Farm Stand on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. “Our harvest days are Tuesdays and Fridays,” he explains, “so that’s when the produce is at its absolute freshest.”
