There’s a host of land and water activities to choose from, including surfing, snorkeling, kayaking, e-foiling, archery, hiking and biking, to sailing our traditional canoe, Kailele, or exploring coastal waters aboard our private 32’ sport fisher, Māhealani.
The first sailing canoes emerged in Polynesia over 1,000 years ago. With it came a depth of knowledge that’s ignited a modern cultural revival. The tradition of canoe sailing is very much alive in the Hawaiian Islands, especially here at Kukui‘ula. Built and Captained by Kaua‘i waterman, Jason Dameron, Kailele offers a unique offshore experience, with sails filled by the trades, flying over swells with dolphins, and a perspective of Kaua‘i few get to experience.
So much of Kaua‘i’s stunning coastline is only accessible by water. Aboard Māhealani, you can explore the cliffs and caves of the Nāpali Coast, snorkel in aquamarine bays, pursue pelagic fish with master fisherman, encounter sea turtles, dolphins, and, in the winter, majestic humpback whales. For the angler, the kitchen will be happy to prep a celebratory meal with your day’s catch. Bookings include, custom half- to full-day trips, and 2-hour sunset cruises.
With dozens of adult and kids bikes to choose from, travelling at the speed of joy is a way of life here at Kukui‘ula. It’s a great way to explore the community, ride to nearby shopping and beaches, or explore the dozens of trails found on Kaua‘i. As a licensed Giant Bicycle Dealer and repair shop, our Huaka’i staff are on hand to assist.

Led by a Kaua‘i expert hunter, you can learn the art of the crossbow, proper hunting etiquette, strategies for wild boar, and how to dress and prepare game sustainably.
