At the heart of Kukui‘ula is The Clubhouse, a welcoming place for Members and guests to gather. Stepping into the great room you are greeted by a view across the Great Lawn and Kukui‘ula harbor to iconic Spouting Horn. Days are nourished with farm-to-table experiences from ‘Umeke Kitchen + Bar, and poolside at Makai Grill + Bar. Family and adult pools, social areas, tennis, pickleball, volleyball, bocce courts, and a freshly stocked Farm Stand are nestled within lush landscaping. The Game Room, Keiki Room, and Bike Hale with street, mountain and e-bikes, add to the fun. A calendar of social gatherings, happy hours, talk story speakers and annual cultural and community events enriches your time on Kauaʻi. In the evening, the Great Lawn’s giant fire pit beckons you to enjoy another magical sunset.
Working with Kukui‘ula’s own farmstead, plus local fishermen and purveyors, Executive Chef Ben Takahashi prepares a “Kauaʻi Elevated” approach to Hawaiian Regional cuisine. Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and quick bites in-between, you’ll find ʻUmeke Kitchen + Bar in The Clubhouse, and Makai Grill + Bar poolside. There’s a full calendar of weekly specials, plus culinary events sprinkled throughout the year.
Steps from The Clubhouse, you’ll find an adult only infinity-edge pool and loungers, with a take-your-breath-away ocean view. Below, family friendly saltwater pools, connected by cascading waterfalls and slides lead to a large sand-bottom lagoon. Soothing and spacious, the Makai Pools provide idyllic spots for sunbathing while enjoying local nibbles and libations from Makai Grill + Bar.
Test your skills, take on the competition, relive your glory days. The Game Room offers a space for family and friends to gather and enjoy the spirit of joyful play. You’ll find pool tables, shuffleboard and video games, classic pinball machines, and chess boards on the veranda. You can take the fun outside to The Great Lawn for croquet and cornhole, or to let the little ones run free.
From arts to Hawaiian crafts, music and games, kids here, find joy in doing simple, playful things. In The Clubhouse Keiki Room, kids can find hosted activites, art supplies, games, books, and a wall of ʻukulele. There’s Junior Golf clinics every Saturday, bikes for all ages, plus watersport and outdoor activities, including archery and surf lessons, offered through our Huaka‘i Outfitters.
More than 300 days of sunshine, temperate breezes and beautiful new tennis and pickleball courts make for an ideal morning or afternoon match. Take advantage of a private lesson and group clinics or join the fun at tournament events through the year. After your game, unwind with a drink at Makai Pools or a sauna and soak at Hi‘ilani Spa. Our Huaka‘i Guides are local experts who love to share their passions as you learn new skills and explore the wonders of Kaua‘i. There’s a host of activities to choose from including surfing, snorkeling, kayaking, e-foiling, archery, hiking, biking, sailing and exploring aboard our traditional canoe, Kailele, or 32’ sportfisher, Māhealani.
For your convenience, The Farm team delivers fresh flowers and produce to the Farm Stand, located next to The Clubhouse. The free, daily harvest from our 10-acre Farmstead changes with the seasons. Mangoes and papayas are in their prime May to September, along with blooms of heliconias, and torch ginger. You’ll find a handy supply of produce bags and tools for flower arrangements.
With dozens of adult and kids bikes to choose from, including street, mountain and e-bikes, travelling at the speed of joy is a way of life at Kukui‘ula. It’s a great way to explore the community, ride to nearby shopping and beaches, or explore the dozens of scenic trails found on Kaua’i. Our Bike Hale is a certified Giant Bicycle dealer and repair shop, staffed by the Huaka‘i Outfitter team.
Throughout Hawaiʻi and here on Kaua‘i, there’s a host of beautiful customs that inspire many of our traditions at Kukui‘ula. Infused with Hawai‘i’s Plantation heritage, the ceremonies and celebrations we practice today tie us to the mana, and moʻolelo—story—of Kaua‘i, and help to create memorable experiences for residents and guest.
