At Kukuiʻula, the staff are the heartbeat of our community, bringing the spirit of Hoʻokipa—gracious hospitality—to life. This month, The Heart of Hoʻokipa series spotlights Tiffany Dusenberry. From her early days as a hostess to becoming a trailblazing leader in hospitality, her journey is rooted in grit, growth, and a deep love for connection. Today, as Director of Food & Beverage and Events at Kukuiʻula, she brings a rare blend of energy, precision, and heart to everything she touches.
Discovering Her Passion
Tiffany’s path wasn’t always aimed at the food and beverage world. Originally pursuing a degree in early childhood education, she supported herself by working at a hotel restaurant. It was there she found her true calling—not in the classroom, but in the fast-paced, sensory world of food and beverage.
“I didn’t wait for opportunities—I created them,” Tiffany says. That drive led her to take on every role in F&B, volunteer wherever she could, and eventually become the first on Kauaʻi to complete the prestigious Starwood management program. Her resume spans supervisor roles, restaurant openings, bartending school in Oʻahu, sommelier certification, and even international beverage program experiences.
Leading With Aloha
Since joining Kukuiʻula 12 years ago, Tiffany has been a force of innovation and excellence. “I lead a team focused on delivering unforgettable experiences,” she shares. From hosting elegant events to refining the Club’s food and beverage programming, her work reflects Kukuiʻula’s commitment to world-class service infused with authentic local flavor.
What sets Tiffany apart is her ability to fuse ambition with authenticity. “The culture of excellence and collaboration at Kukuiʻula is what excites me the most,” she says. “There’s a dynamic energy here that challenges me to think outside the box and push boundaries.”
She’s also not afraid to let Members in on a little culinary secret. “Chef Ben is our hidden gem. If you ever get the chance, ask him for his oxtail soup—it’s one of those local secrets that makes Kukuiʻula so special.”
Rooted in Community
Outside of work, Tiffany’s life is grounded in balance and nature. Whether she’s hiking the island’s trails, testing her strength in CrossFit, or enjoying quiet moments during Westside sunsets, she finds renewal in the rhythm of Kauaʻi.
One of her favorite traditions is helping her husband’s family tend to their loʻi (taro patch) in Waimea Valley. “During harvest season, the whole family gathers to work the land and share meals. That’s where I truly recharge—immersed in nature and tradition.”
Always Moving Forward
Tiffany’s sights are set firmly on the future. “I’m excited by the opportunity to drive change and redefine what’s possible in F&B and events,” she says. With bold ideas and a commitment to community, she’s leading Kukuiʻula’s next chapter one event, one plate, one connection at a time.
From planting seeds of ambition to cultivating excellence, Tiffany embodies the heart of hoʻokipa: to welcome, to serve, and to lead with aloha.
