Getting to this beach, located at the end of an old cane-hauling road near Koloa, isn’t easy, but the stretch of sand and water that greets you makes the trip worthwhile. According to some, this beach, and the nearby Hau‘ula are the quietest beaches on the south side. Monk seals lounge and local fishermen catch dinner. With any luck, you’ll have the place – which is where King Kamehameha was defeated in an attempt to invade Kauai – virtually to yourself.
