Kauai is such an inspiring place to live which is why it’s no surprise you’ll find a huge population of artists living here. On the south side alone, from Poipu to Hanapepe, there are a handful of fantastic art galleries to visit offering locally made pieces such as paintings, sculptures and jewelry (to name a few). Just down the road from Kukuiula are The Shops at Kukuiula where several art galleries can be found, including: aFeinberg Photography, Galerie 103, Halele`a Gallery, Palms Gallery, Red Koi and Scott Hanft Photography. Once a month there are Art Nights held island wide where both visitors and residents can enjoy live entertainment, good food and an array of beautiful art to take home.
Every Friday, 6 – 9pm, Hanapepe Art Night
Located ten minutes past Kalaheo and just down the road from Eleele, Historic Hanapepe Town (deemed Kauai’s “biggest little town”) comes alive for Art Night. Patrons walk the iconic spaghetti western looking main street lined with food trucks, local vendors and talented musicians. Grab a hot chocolate at Little Fish Coffee and then hit the galleries, a few of which include: Kauai Fine Art, Moonbow Magic Gift Gallery, Banana Patch Studio, The Bright Side Gallery and Hanapepe Art Works.
First Saturday, 5 – 9pm, Kapaa Town
On the first Saturday of every month head to Old Kapaa town, ranked one of “America’s Prettiest Towns” by Forbes Magazine. Stop by a happy hour at one of Kapaa’s bustling restaurants and bars beforehand and then stroll through the collection of vendors offering arts, crafts and presentations from local organizations. Occasionally there is even dancing! A great event to bring the family too as Kauai is a very Keiki-friendly island.
Last Saturday, 4 – 8pm, Kilauea
Kilauea Art Night Facebook
Head up north on the last Saturday of every month to check out Kilauea’s Art Night. Featuring live music, delicious food and over twenty-five different artisans to choose from this is a great way to get to experience the northern style found here on Kauai. From scented soaps, ceramics and essential oils to homemade pies, produce and paintings there is so much to discover! We look forward to seeing you in the crowd.
