Hiking Nounou Mountain (Sleeping Giant) Kauai

Nounou Mountain is a staple in Hawaiian culture. This mountain range, better known as “Sleeping Giant” resembles just that. Legend has it that a well-loved giant once roamed the land. One day, the local village needed a new temple built and the giant volunteered. When completed, the people threw the giant a luau in thanks.

It was said after that eating so much at the party, he lied down and has yet to awaken! A theme that is still very much practiced on Kauai today: eat, drink and be merry.
